Sgt. James Darrough

Sgt. James M. Darrough, 38, Clarksville, formerly of Austin, Texas, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 while honorably serving his country in Kabul Province, Afghanistan. He sustained wounds from a vehicle-borne IED attack.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Community Chapel, Fort Campbell, Kentucky with (Chp) Maj Coy and Pastors Bob Alvarez and Jeremiah Wacker officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will take place in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at Community Chapel.
Sgt. Darrough was born May 29, 1973 in Miami, FL, son of Robert Darrough and Janelle Darrough. He was a 1991 graduate of Manatee High School in Bradenton, FL. He was assigned to 101st Finance Company, 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, Fort Campbell. He joined the Army in 2005 and arrived at Fort Campbell in July 2009. He was the recipient of numerous awards and decorations which include: the Bronze Star Medal; the Purple Heart Medal; Joint Service Commendation Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Meritorious Unit Commendation; and a host of other decorations.
Survivors include his wife, Isaura Darrough of Clarksville; sons, Justin and Jared Darrough; daughters, Julianna and Jenna Darrough, all of Clarksville; his father, Robert of Charlotte, NC and his mother, Janelle, of Livingston, TX.
