Sgt. Allen Douglas Corwin, 42, Fort Campbell, died Friday, January 29, 2010, at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Soldier's Chapel, Fort Campbell, with full military honors with Chaplain Maj. Stull officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at Soldier's Chapel. He was born February 17, 1967 in Cedar Falls, Iowa son of Douglas Harry and Janet Eileen Mortensen Corwin. Spc. Corwin was a U.S. Army Iraqi War Veteran, and the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, 2 Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/ Bronze Service Star and the Expert Infantryman Badge. Other than his parents, of Cedar Falls, IA; he is survived by his wife, Lauren Grubb Corwin, Ft. Campbell; sons, Jason Robert Allen Corwin, Charles Anthony Corwin; daughters, Jaelynn Rae Corwin, Deirdre Elizabeth Corwin, all of Fort Campbell; brother, Eric Corwin, Iowa; and grandfather, Robert Mortensen, Iowa.
