SGM Donald Ray Mitchell, Army (Ret), age 77 of Dickson passed away February 18, 2021.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Military Honors will follow. Burial will take place at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2021 and again on Monday, from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Donald entered this life on January 11, 1944 in Nashville, TN to the late Robert and Viola Myatt Mitchell. He was a Retired Vietnam Veteran of The United States Army, a member of the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association and a Baptist.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Mitchell, Howard Mitchell, Norma Fisher, Nina Faye Northcutt, and Pete Mitchell, and grandchild, Caleb Baggett.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Rella Carman Mitchell; daughters, Cathy (Thomas) Flores, April (Randy) Baggett, and Viola (Jeremy) Miller; grandchildren, T.C. Loughery, Thomas H. Flores, Joshua Baggett, Mitchell Flores, Donald Jacob Baggett, Robert Flores, and Jonathan Baggett; great-grandchildren, Kaden Goodrum, Sheridan Loughery, Brody Flores, Payton Flores, and Elaina Flores; sisters, Mary Ann McElhiney, Linda Pickral, and Brenda Helderbrand.
