1SG (Ret.) Louis Theodore Brooks, 84, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at his home in Clarksville.
A Celebrarion of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Pastor Soung K. Pak of United Korean Church officiating. Full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will follow the service from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
Louis was born November 5, 1927 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, son of Robert L. and Cecelia Canadian Brooks. He served during WWII with the Canadian Armed Forces and then entered the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War and Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Following his 30 year career with the U.S. Army he worked and retired from Civil Service at Fort Campbell. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Fredericton NB, and the local chapters of the DAV, American Legion, and the VFW. Louis was a Native American, belonging to the Maliseet First Nation.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Pak Hwa Son Brooks of Clarksville; his son, Robert Brooks of Clarksville; his daughters, Cecelia Ann Brooks of Fredericton and Lora Mary Gassett and her husband Chris of Clarksville; his grandchildren, Jennifer Brooks, Adrian Webber, Sarah Brooks, Anthony Brooks, and David Brooks; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Louis Brooks, and siblings, Harry Brooks and Clara Paul.
