1SG (Ret) James Andrew "Jim" Clegg, age 79, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Full military honors will be rendered following the service at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jim was born March 19, 1933, son of James A. and Mary Jane Campbell Clegg. He retired from the U.S. Army following 20 years of distinguished service. Jim bravely served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam and among other prestigious citations was a recipient of the CIB, the Master Parachutist Badge, and the Bronze Star. Following his service to country, Jim worked at Sears for over 30 years in TV and Appliance sales. Jim was an active member of the WK&T Chapter of the 101st Airborne Division Association and the American Legion, Post 233.
Survivors include his loving wife, Diana Lynn Clegg of Clarksville; daughters, Holly Jane Archer of Temple, TX and Leslie Loraine Price of Charlotte, NC; children by marriage, Joy Lynn Fischer of Clarksville, Steven Allensworth Senseney of Clarksville, Sandra Lee Walker of Clarksville, and Paula Carson of Belle Meade, TN. He was the proud grandfather of twelve and great grandfather of seven. He was preceded in death by his daughter by marriage, Mona Lisa Burmudez.
