SFC Roger M. Waufle, age 41, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2023 at Hurricane Baptist Church, 4153 Hurricane Rd, Cadiz, KY. The Rev. Gary Lambert will officiate. US Army Honors will be rendered by Ft. Campbell's160th SOAR. Roger's family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday at the church. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Oley Cemetery, Oley, Pennsylvania.
Roger entered this life on October 28, 1981, in Englewood, Colorado, son of Roger L. and Dorothy Johnston Waufle. As a young man, Roger began his career with the US Marine Corps and transitioned to the US Army for a combined total of over 23 years of military service. He was a member of the US Army's elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Night Stalkers), serving as a MH-60M Black Hawk Crew Chief. Roger was an integral component of the Night Stalkers team. He was well-liked and known for his expertise and professionalism. As much as the Army was to Roger's identity, he was even more devoted to his family. Being a loving husband and role model father meant the world to him. He was also a member of Hurricane Baptist Church, Cadiz, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Jennifer Fay Waufle; children, Avery, Joshua, and Luke Waufle; siblings, Darren and Beth Waufle, Mark Waufle, and Patricia Waufle Hocker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Rose Fay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don and Theresa Fay, Nick Fay and Louisa Heck; nieces and nephews, Kaity, Taylor, Kylie, Lylah, Francesca, Michael, Zachary, J.T., Jake, and Donni.
