SFC (Ret) Roy Dickerson, Sr.

Roy John Dickerson, Sr., age 87, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center.
A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Kim Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dickerson was born September 10, 1926 in Mt. Airy, NC and was the son of the late Squire and Ida Dickerson. He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran having served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Little West Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Evelyn Bennett Dickerson, Clarksville; son, Roy J. Dickerson, Jr. and his wife Melissa Hodges Dickerson, Clarksville; daughters, Donna Gail Hanncock and her husband Larry of Owensboro, KY and Pamela Jo Jarman, Clarksville; brothers, Bill Dickerson, Mt. Airy, NC, Bob Dickerson, New Port News, VA; sister, Lib Hubert, New Port News, VA; and eight grandchildren.
