SFC (Ret) Melvin McVicker

SFC (Ret) Melvin "Mel" McVicker, age 78, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his home in Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be rendered.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Mel entered this life on September 26, 1934 in Spencer, Ohio, son to Herschel and Grace Borlind McVicker. Mel was retired from a notably distinguished career with the U.S. Army. He served two tours in Vietnam.
He is survived by his children, Mike McVicker, Dawn Saxer, Silke Morse, Marc McVicker, Dirk McVicker, and Kirsten Brewer. He was the grandfather of twelve and great grandfather of five. In addition to his parents, Mel was preceded in death by a son, Rick McVicker, two brothers, and one sister.
