SFC Charles "Chuck" L. Adkins, 36, Clarksville, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Afghanistan. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Spring Creek Baptist Church, here in Clarksville with Rev. Paul Bunger officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. A funeral service with full military honors will be held 7 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at Faith Memorial Church, Castalia, OH with Rev. Thomas Groot officiating. Visitation will be from Friday, 1-5 p.m. at Ransom Funeral Home, Castalia, OH. The remains will be cremated. Adkins was born January 20, 1975 in Sandusky, OH. His career achievments include the Bronze Star Service Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, four Army Good Conduct Medals, two National Service Defense Medals, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, four Overseas Service Ribbon, Air Assault Badge, Path Finder Badge, and the Combat Action Badge. He attended Spring Creek Baptist Church.
