Sara Highsmith

Sara Highsmith age 91, passed away on July 16, 2024, in Paducah, Kentucky. She was born on July 10, 1933, in her hometown of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Sara enjoyed a long career with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System where she took great pride in serving wholesome lunches to her beloved school children. Her smile and kind heart undoubtedly touched the lives of many students and colleagues alike. Her work ethic and dedication were truly admirable.

Beyond her career, Sara was an avid walker. She found solace in the great outdoors, embracing every opportunity to immerse herself in the beauty of the natural world. Her love for simple pleasures reflected her down-to-earth and genuine character. She cherished moments with her loved ones and true happiness in being by family members. 

In her passing, she leaves behind a daughter, Judy Hays and sons-in-law, Rodney Hays and Steve Boyd; her grandchildren, Richard Kreager, Justin Kreager, Brooke Ernspiker, and Ashley Boyd; and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Nelson and Beatrice Jones, Sara was preceded in death by a daughter, Betsy Boyd; brother, Don Jones; and a grandson, Jordan Kreager. Sara's memory will be forever held dear by those who knew her best.
