Samuel Clifton Grant, 88 of Southside, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Grace Health Care.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Falls officiating. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday.
Samuel was born July 3, 1927 in Southside, the son of the late Vernon Grant and Viva L. Jones Grant. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Charles Grant and sisters, Ruby Harvey and Marie Bumpus. Samuel was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served our country in World War II and retired Civil Service Fort Campbell. He was a farmer and member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and the McAllister Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Parker Grant; son, Kevin Parker Grant and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Matthew Grant, Ashley Grant, Brandy Black, and Michael Baggett; great-grandchildren, Andrew Baggett and Haley Baggett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel Hill Cemetery Fund in the care of Kevin Grant 4238 Old Highway 48, Southside, TN 37171.
