Sammy Lee Sanders, age 67 of Clarksville, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at his residence.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, June 8, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Robertson and Tony Zuniga officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday.
Sammy was born on December 31, 1947 in Montgomery County, the son of the late Jessie Sanders and Flo Mai Alley Sanders Spitzer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department as the director of the Task Force. He was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church and enjoyed golf and going to the beach.
He is survived by his wife, Lurene Rippie Sanders; daughters, Shantell (Chris) Wilson, Shelby (Matt) Canaan, and Dawn Neal; grandchildren, Christopher Wilson II, Lance Kalnai, Kelsey Canaan, Zachary Wilson, and Braden Canaan.
Pallbearers will be Billy Batson, James Williams, Eddie Black, George Dettweiler, Rob Long, and Erle Cockarell.
