Sam Edward Mathis 80, of Erin, Tn. passed away Tuesday March 8, 2016 at Houston County Community Hospital. A celebration of his life will be 1pm Thursday at nave Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jacqueline Pitt Martin officiating. Visitation will be from4pm until 8pm Wednesday and from 8am until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his loving wife Carlene Jackson Mathis, one son Gary Mathis, one daughter Denise Featherstone, one brother Alfred Mathis, one sister Laverne Tinker, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Tyler Featherstone, Cory Featherstone, Cody Mathis, Chris Mathis, Jeff Mathis, and David Matlock.
