Ruth Evelyn Perry, 91, of Clarksville, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by family and friends on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Felts Dent officiating. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Ruth was born July 17, 1921 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of William Richard Newell and Bertha Alice Gault Newell. She was a homemaker, a member of The Gideons Auxillary and First Baptist Church of Clarksville, and formerly a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Ruth is survived by her loving family which includes her husband of over 62 years, John (Jack) Perry of Clarksville; her children, John Perry of Eugene, Oregon and Jean Petersen and husband Chris of Weston, Texas; grandchildren, Spencer Petersen, Hope Petersen, Kelly Bearfield, and Meredith Petersen; and her sister, Dorothy Delong of Elyria, Ohio.
Pallbearers will be John Perry, Chris Petersen, Spencer Petersen, Grant Bearfield, Jesse Foster, Gordon Shippy, and Chuck Remick.
