Ruth McElroy

Ruth McElroy, 77, Clarksville went peacefully home to be with the lord, Sunday, July 5, 2009, at her residence. The funeral will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at McReynolds Nave Larson Chapel with Rev Ward Carver officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from Tuesday 4 to 8 PM at Funeral Home and from Wednesday 9 AM to time ofservice at Funeral Home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. McElroy was born February 27, 1932 the daughter of the late Jim Moore and Elizabeth Walls Moore. Preceded in death by her brothers , J.W. Moore, S.T. Moore, Alvin Moore, James Moore, Rex Moore, Morris Moore, and a sister Willie Moore Wages. Survived by her loving husband of 50 years, William "Bill" McElroy, two adoring daughters, Karen Elizabeth McElroy Black(husband Joe) and Debra Jean McElroy Lynch (husband Eddie), Grandchildren that were her pride and joy, Jeremey Lee Slayton, Justin Douglas McElroy, Jacob Andrew Lynch,, Emmie Jacy Elizabeth McElroy Black, three step-grandchildren, Timmy, Chris and Jennifer Lynch, along with seven step-great grandchildren. A Sister Shelby Jean Waters, she loved very much, and many nieces and nephews that she thought the world of , to name a few, Virginia Quinley, Diane Wages, Shirley Bishop, Billy Wages, and a sister-in-law Pearl Moore. Mrs. McElroy's working carrer included employment with Creative Incorporation, Jostens, and manger of The Dollar General Store for many years until retiring in the early 80's . But she is best known for her devotion and care of her husband, children, and especially her grandchildren whom held her in high regard. She was know by her grandchildren as "The Best Grand Mama Ever". Each one held a special place in her heart, Jeremey, was the first grandchild and stole her heart, Justin was the second grandchild and was her comedian, Jacob was the third grandchild was her blue-eyed baby, sweet and loving, Emmie, the only grand-daughter was her miracle, Momaws Sweet Precious Angel.
