Ruth Glade Flanagan Manion `Mama Glade`, 89, Crossville, formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Cumberland Medical Center, Crossville, TN. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Jesse Tharpe and Dr. Ted Denney officiating. Burial will be in At The End Of The Trail Cemetery in Crawley, West Virginia. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born December 14, 1918 in Thayer, WV, the daughter of William H. Bess, Sr. and Easle Meadors Bess, and raised by Rosco C. Burns and Effie Meadors Burns. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ova Sheaves; brother, Jim Burns; husbands, William H. Flanagan and Robert Manion. Mrs. Manion was a homemaker and a faithful Baptist belonging to Parkview Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Rosco H. (Shirley) Flanagan, Atlanta, MI, Carl L. (Cathy) Flanagan, Crossville, Kermit Flanagan, Apache Junction, AZ; daugther, Herma L. (Thurman) Hayes, Clarksville; grandchildren, Gary (Debbie) Flanagan, Greenville, Gloria (Brian) Gilbert, Vero Beach, FL, Scott (Ray Caranci) Hayes, West Palm Beach, FL, Theresa (Mark) Stone, Clarksville, Paula (Tim) Olive, North Port, AL, Robin Suiter, Taylor, MI, Brian (Amy) Hayes, Springfield, MO, Gayle Castilllo, Lake Mary, FL; twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; brothers, William H. (Mary Lou) Bess, Sierra Vista, AZ, John (Jack) Bess, Amity, PA; sister, Bertell Vetitoe, Westland, MI; and dozens and dozens of loving nieces & nephews and scores of friends.
