Ruth Barnett

Ruth Adeline Bos Barnett, 95, Clarksville, died Sunday, August 10, 2008. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman and Rev. Ward Carver officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born October 16, 1912 in Oak Park, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garrett Bos and Jennie Heartt Bos; her husband, Leslie E. Barnett Sr.; her son, Robert E. Barnett and a baby daughter. Mrs. Barnett was co-owner of Barnett Instrument Company, Inc. She graduated from River Forest Township Highschool in 1930 and attended Crane Junior College in Chicago. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1958 where she sang in the Chancel Choir for many years and more recently the Senion Choir, The Joyful Sounds. A member of the Steadfast Bible School Class and of the Triple L. Senior Group, traveling on a number of their tours. Survivors include her sons, William G. (Linda) Barnett, Leslie E. (Margaret) Barnett Jr., both of Clarksville; daughters, Beverly B. (Tony) Tanner, Susan Barnett (Bobby) Johnson, both of Clarksville, Janet B. (Jack Jr.) Watson, South Daytona, FL, Ruth B. (Jim) White, Old Hickory, Gail C. Barnett, Carol B. Perry, both of Hendersonville; sister, Florence Bos, Chicago; twelve grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Family will serve as pallbearers In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
