Ruby Muriel Adams, 98, of Hartselle, Alabama, passed away on January 29, 2023, completing a life well-lived.
Ruby was born on June 9, 1924 to Joseph Edgar Jackson and Leathy Bledsoe Jackson in Robertson County, Tennessee. Shortly after her birth, the family settled back in Houston County for the remainder of their lives.
After graduating from Erin High School in 1944, Ruby joined her friends and sisters and moved to Detroit, Michigan to work in the factories supporting the war effort.
She married the love of her life, Ewing Adams, in 1945 and joined him for a short time while he was on duty with the U.S. Navy in California. After the war ended, they settled in the Detroit area until Ewing’s retirement. They moved back to Houston County, Tennessee in 1980. She was a long time member of Griffins Chapel Church of the Nazarene. After the death of Ewing in 2002, Ruby continued to live on their farm near Erin, Tennessee until moving to Hartselle, Alabama in 2005 to be closer to her nieces.
Ruby is survived by her nephew Rick Adams of Maryville, Tennessee, nieces Gail Shell (Andy) and Teresa Adams of Hartselle, Alabama, Carlene Mathis and Sue Beard (Terry) of Houston County, Tennessee, and Brenda Patterson (Jerry) of Milton, Florida. Also, many second and third generations of nieces and nephews who loved her and will miss her very much.
A graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Erin, Tennessee on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Visitation opportunity at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home will be from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM prior to the graveside service .
