Roy Benjamin McCarty, age 83, of Cumberland City, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his home. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Nave Funeral Home, Erin with the Rev. Joel Nulty officiating. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday, all at Nave Funeral Home. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery, Erin.
Mr. McCarty was born May 27, 1928 in Erin, Tennessee, the son of the late Albert and Anna Lacy McCarty. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ireland McCarty. Mr. McCarty was a retired Blaster and a Christian .
Survivors include his son Jeffery Lynn McCarty, and daughters; Sue Ann Adams, Terri Jean Bryant, all of Cumberland City, Tn, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mathew Meeks, Ronnie Bryant, Terry Adams, Russell McCarty, Jason McCarty, and Jeffery McCarty.
