Roy Dawson

Roy Glen Dawson, 76, Cumberland Furnace, passed away July 2, 2011 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Jones officiating. The remains will be cremated. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Roy was born March 15, 1935 in Clarksville, son of Roy Glen Dawson, Sr. and Myrtle Pauline Clark Dawson. He retired from Fisher Body, Willow Springs, IL, as a Tool & Die Maker, was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, and was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jane Smith Dawson of Cumberland Furnace, son Terry Glen (Laura) Dawson of Shorewood, IL, daughter Mary Ann Dawson of Cunningham, TN, brother James G. Dawson of Minooka, IL, grandchildren Jimmy and Matthew Overfield, Ricky and Heidi Carlisle, Terese Bernicky, and Danny Dawson, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
