Rosie Violet “Tootie” Smalley Wall Ferrell, age 77, passed away Friday August 12, 2011 at NHC Nursing Home in Dickson, TN.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Ken Andrews and Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Rye’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Monday.
“Tootie” was born February 9, 1934 in Montgomery County, daughter of Robert Lee and Mattie Lee Sinks Smalley. She was a retired bus driver with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and attended Lee’s Chapel Church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her second husband, Elbert Franklin Ferrell, brothers Robert Jr. Smalley and Ray Smalley, and step-son Frank Ferrell.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Jerry) Harrell; grandsons Stephen and Matt Harrell; former husband, Van Wall; sisters, Mary Lillian Blackwell, Faye (Sissy) (Hurley) Parker, and Eva Jean (Lester Jr.) Lee; brothers, David (Sis) Smalley and Paul Smalley; step-children Johnny (Brenda) Ferrell, Pat Ferrell, Chuck (Wanda) Ferrell, Ann (David) Kern, and Betty Sue (Mike) McDaniel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Gary Smalley, Paul Blackwell, Jr., Greg Morrison, Ricky Greene, Stephen Harrell, and Matt Harrell.
