Ronald Moore McKinney

Ronald “Ronny” Moore McKinney, age 85, of Woodlawn, passed away peacefully at his home in Woodlawn, TN on Sunday, September 8, 2024. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, with Bro. Mark Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. 

Ronny entered into this life on May 30, 1939, in Woodlawn, TN to the late Johnny E. and Mable Moore McKinney. Graduated from Clarksville High School and Austin Peay State University, where he played football and baseball. After college, he became a physical education teacher and football coach in Montgomery County. He proudly protected the natural resources of Stewart County, Tennessee as a TWRA officer for twenty-eight years. Ronny was a member of the National Guard for seven years. After retiring from TWRA Ronny and his wife (Jenny) moved to his farm Montgomery County; where he began farming full time. Ronny was an avid hunter and after moving to the farm he became actively involved in owning and showing Rocky Mountain/Kentucky Mountain Horses.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Carl Scott McKinney.

Survivors include his loving wife, Virginia (Jenny) Dale McKinney; brother, Paul (Ramona) McKinney of Woodlawn; sister, Diana (Joe) Simmons of Woodlawn; children, Gwyn (Ricky) Shepard of Nashville, Cheryl (Randy) Roth of Dickson, John (Heather) McKinney of Ashland City, Jack (Tammy) Scott of Palm Coast, FL; daughter-in-law, Carrie McKinney; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Dotsonville Baptist Cemetery Fund.
