Roger Wayne Harrison, 85, Clarksville, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Richard Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Monday at the church. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 19, 1922 in Dandridge, TN, son of Emmett Marion Harrison and Myrtle Dicie Holbert Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Frances H. Harrison. Mr. Harrison was retired from the U.S. Navy, The Trane Company, and former owner of General T.V. Shop in New Providence, then was a salesman for James Corlew Chevrolet and retired from selling real estate with Conroy, Marable and Holloman Realtors. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he was secretary for the High Priest Group, former ward clerk and counselor to the Bishop. Survivors include his daughters, Delona Shockey, Palmyra, Delores Weathersbee, Beach Island, S.C.; sister, Jewell Curry, Dandridge, TN; three grandchildren, Kathleen McLendon, Colleen Teet, Wayne Weathersbee, Ross White and Lynn Weathersbee; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.. Pallbearere will be the High Priest Group of the Clarksville 3rd Ward. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital, 2200 Children's Way, Nashville, TN 37232.
