Roger Dale Batson, age 58 of Clarksville, passed away on November 30, 2014 at the Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, New York.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Baggett’s Chapel Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Terry Bear and Rev. Henry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Baggett’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the church.
Roger was born on October 3, 1956 in Nashville, TN, the son of John D. Batson and Mary Magdalene Chapman Batson. He was an ordained minister for the Church of God of Prophecy and attended Liverworth Church of God of Prophecy. He loved spending time with his family antiquing. He was a graduate of Austin Peay State University and worked as a mental health therapist for the Magellan Company serving the military and armed forces community.
Roger is survived by his wife of 37 years, Peggy Hampton Batson; mother, Mary Magdalene Chapman Batson; brother, Harold E. Batson; sister, Kathie L. (Terry) Bear; mother in law, Victoria Hampton; brother in laws, Robert (Diane) Hampton and Kenny Hampton; sister in law, Teressa Jinnette;; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Eric Jinnette, David Weaver, Kenneth Hampton, Robert Hampton, Jeremy Bear, Zachary Grisby, and Robert Ray Hampton.
