Robert Wood

Robert L. Wood, 73, Cumberland Furnace, died Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Horizon Medical Center, Dickson, TN. A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. James Greene officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The remains are to be cremated. He was born February 27, 1937 in Ross County, OH and was the son of the late Virgil and Margaret Johnson Wood. Mr. Wood was a retired U.S. Navy Veteran and was currently employed as a mechanic at Old South Freight in Pleasantview. He was a protestant. Survivors include his wife, Janice Sherrow Wood, Cumberland Furnace; son, Robert Brian Wood, Palmyra; daughters, Michelle Denise Wood-Acosta, El Paso, TX, Cherri Byard, Palmyra, Cathy Ann Baker, Springfield; brothers, Donald Wood, Pleasantview, Richard Wood, Slayden; sisters, Virginia Coey, Springfield, OH, Judith Boggs, Waverly, OH; and eight grandchildren.
