Robert W. "Bobby" Clark

Robert Wakefield Clark, 71, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 7, 2012.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse Gold and Jason Pennington officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Bobby was born in Hopkinsville, KY on June 8, 1941, to parents Robert Ewing and Junera Wakefield Clark.
An Army Veteran, Bobby's business contribution to the City of Clarksville spanned 45 years, beginning with the opening of New Providence Furniture in 1967 and is carried on today as Embassy Furniture by the third generation of the Clark family. His entrepreneurial spirit has continued nonstop, providing hundreds of jobs for Clarksville over the years. Following a property development path started by his Father, Bobby's ability to envision the growth of Clarksville became legendary. He developed the communities known as Millstone Place, Marymont, Plantation II, and has been a contributor to countless others. The Robert W. Clark Park was recently named by the City in his honor for his contribution of land to be used as part of the new City Blueways Project. He has also left provisions to donate a large parcel of land to the Rails to Trails Greenway Project.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cook Clark, brothers Fred (Donna) Clark and John Mark Clark, mother-in-law Rosie Cook, nieces Angela Nicole Clark and Meredith Lea Clark, and many more Cook family relations.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Wyatt, Robert Pennington, Billy Weems, James Long, Jr., Robert Ladd, Eddie Burchett, Bill Mace, and Bill Belew, Sr.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
