Robert Smathers, 55 of Woodlawn, died Saturday January 28, 2012 at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 noon Thursday February 2, 2012 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Chapel with Rev. EC Kephart officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with military honors. Visitation will be Thursday 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
Robert was born Januray 19, 1957 in Pensacola, FL, son of the late Edward B. and Ima L. Fisher Smathers. He was a Groundskeeper at Mason Rudolph Golf Course, a veteran of the US Air Force and he attended Slayden Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean, and his daughter, Angela.
Robert is survived by his significant other, Wanda Hudson of Woodlawn; son, Michael Esparza of CA; grandchildren, Michael Esparza and Joshua Esparza; and brother, William E. (Mary) Smathers.
