Robert (Bob) Denton Scoggin, 64, Palmyra went to be forever in the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ, Tuesday, April 6, 2010. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Louie Montoya officiating. Burial will be in Williams Chapel Baptist Cemetery, Robertson County, TN. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born on May 6, 1945 in Franklin, KY and was preceded in death by his father, John W. Scoggin. Bob was a local restaurant manager for many years, and a building contractor for the last several years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, ordained minister and short term missionary with a passion for Mexico, co-founding "Love In Action, Inc" for the Mexican work. He was part of First Assembly of God. Other than his mother, Nancye Morris Scoggin, Springfield, TN, survivors include his wife, Deborah Sullivan Scoggin, Palmyra; sons, Brian Cope, Clarksville, William Scoggin, Erin, Manuel Scoggin, Palmyra; daughters, Nancye Peterson, Clarskville, Angela Evans, Clarksville, Heather Adams, Cumberland Furnace, Karla Scoggin, Palmyra; brothers, Thomas Scoggin, Springfield, John Scoggin, Waynesboro, TN, James Scoggin, Venice, CA; sister, Carolyn (Bill) Shearron, Springville, TN. Pallbearers will be J.C. Davis, Mark Hood, Raymond Martinez, Aaron Eby, Benjamin Eby, Jeremy Adams, Wade Evans and Bob Peterson. He was a tender, loving husband, a strong and caring father, grandfather and son. He will be greatly and sadly missed, but he leaves a legacy of faith, righteousness and giving, and he has touched many lives for eternity. .
