Robert McCurdy

Robert Matthew McCurdy, 30, Cumberland Furnace, died Wednesday, August 9, 2011 at his residence.
A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cunningham, TN. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. Mr. McCurdy was born February 11, 1981 in Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father, Andy McCurdy; and his uncle, Eddie Akins. He was a member of Christ Fellowship Church and Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department. Matt graduated from Montgomery Central High School in 1999 and later from Austin Peay State University where he was Sigma Phi Epsilon. He was a former Clarksville Fire Fighter and was currently working as an Agent for Farm Bureau of Dickson.
He is survived by his mother, Pamela Kay Akins McCurdy Knight and step-father, Johnnie Knight, Cunningham; daughters, Pamela Grace and Audrey Faith McCurdy, Cumberland Furnace; brother, Michael Brandon (Megan) McCurdy, Cunningham; step-brother, Ryan Knight, Clarksville; grandparents, Bill and Ruth (Williams) Akins, Robert and Mary Nola (Batson) McCurdy; paternal aunts, Betsy (Steve) Wall, Patty (Bill) Lamirande; maternal uncles, Gary (Raini) Akins, Mike (Lisa) Akins; niece, Mallory McCurdy; and a host of cousins. Pallbearers will be Billy Edlin, Brad Heflin, Ben Workman, Eric Green, Randy Woodruff and Kevin Heflin.
