Robert Hewell

Robert Lewis Hewell, 91, Woodlawn, died Monday, December 20, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Blooming Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Wilee's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the church. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hewell was born February 7, 1919 in Montgomery County, and was preceded in death by his parents, Otis B. and Bessie Mae Clark Hewell; wife, Clarice Gray Hewell; and son, Charles Luke Hewell. Mr. Hewell was a retired farmer and carptenter. He was a member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Clarice Ann (Gary) Austin, Woodlawn; grandchildren, Lawrence (Celena) Austin, Katrina (Charles) Nix; great-grandchildren, Blaize and Gavin Austin; and brother, Leslie Hewell, Titusville, FL. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Austin, Earl Green, Doyle Evans, Fred Crider, Bobby Payne, Tony Payne, Tony Williams and Wesley Austin.
