Robert Wendell Haynes Sr., age 80 of Clarksville, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Robert was born on March 17, 1934 in Montgomery County, the son of Robert L. Haynes and Laura Bell Davis Moore Haynes Peacher. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korea and Vietnam War. Robert also worked as a correction officer and belonged to the Clarksville Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Ann Haynes.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth D. Haynes, Robert Wendell (Tammy) Haynes Jr., and Timothy D. (Sonya) Haynes; daughter, Mary Ann Harvey; step-children, Eddie (Anna) Robinson, Dennis Robinson, and Anthony Robinson; grandchildren, Faith (Shawn) Turner, Angela Haynes, Matthew (Crystal) Robinson, Nick (Kimberly) Robinson, Michelle Haynes, Kenneth Haynes Jr., Brittany Haynes, Christopher Harvey, Stephen Harvey, Nathanial Harvey, Dale Moody and A.J. Robinson; great-grandchildren, J.T. Haynes, Kadence Turner, Payson Turner, Colten Turner, Marabella Haynes, Brooklyn Johnson, and Rhea Dunn; half-brother, Bob (Sue) Haynes.
