Robert Dean

Robert E. Dean, 90, Clarksville, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at VA Medical Center in Nashville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. John Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. He was born September 1, 1920 in Christian County, KY and was preceded in death by his father, Hick Dean; mother, Agnes Suiter Dean; brothers, James Dean, Franklin Dean, Harry Dean; sister, Maggie Bowers; son, Wendell Dean; and his wife, Ravenel Dean. Mr. Dean was owner of Dean Grocery and operated Dean Construction. He was formerly employed by Harris Propane. Survivors include his grandchildren, Michael Dean, Clarksville, Jason Dean, Lavergne; great-granddaughter, Kayte Dean; sisters, Ruth (Joe) Haley, Clarksville, Ruby Price, Florida, Josephine Pugh, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joey Haley, Steve McCoy, Dean Hillman, Billy Dean, Jimmy Dean, Tom Dean, Joe Pitts, Al Acuna and Danny Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Hadley, Herschel Harris, Eugene Albright, Hubert Griffey and Doug Parker.
