Robert C. Courboin, 90, Clarksville, passed away on, October 20, 2008. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Ed Steiner officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Courboin was pre-deceased by his wife of 63 years, Rosemary. He leaves three loving children: Robert Jr. (Jeanne), Kathleen (Richard) Hayes, and Patrice (Matthias) Lydon; three grandchildren, Alexis Hayes, Justin Hayes and Winston Courboin. Bob was a long time resident of Clarksville where he belonged to Rotary and the Clarksville Country Club. He was a member of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was proud to donate the organ in the Chapel under his Father's name. Bob enoyed the game of golf and played as long as he was able. He and his wife, Rosemary, were members of a few bridge clubs. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels, income tax help for the elderly and was a volunteer police commissioner in Winnetka, IL. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1941, where his name is still on the home page under Most Lettered Graduates. He had a Masters Degree from NYU. He worked for many companies, Westinghouse, RCA, Pfizer, Northwest Industries and finally Acme Boot of Clarksville, retiring in 1981.
