Robert Black, a beloved member of the Clarksville community, passed away on February 2, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on December 16, 1942, in Montgomery County, Tennessee.
Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and again on Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Robert embraced a life full of diverse experiences and passions. Throughout his career, he excelled in various fields including auto mechanics, locomotive engineering, sales and transportation. A man of action and compassion, Robert never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. One of Robert's greatest joys was traveling across the country. Exploring different cities and landscapes allowed him to embark on countless adventures and create cherished memories. Additionally, his love for music manifested itself through his skillful guitar playing.
Robert leaves behind a legacy that is cherished by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving children: Scott (Amy) Black of Clarksville, Leslie (Chad) Booth of Clarksville, and Susan (Dale) Wilkinson of Pigeon Forge. His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Conner Black, Stewart Black, Cody Linkous, Collin Wilkinson, Nick Wilkinson, and Dylan Booth. In addition to his immediate family members, Robert also leaves behind his sister Opal Gamblin as well as numerous nieces and nephews. During his life, Robert formed a special bond with Sue Perkins, who remained a dear friend until the end. Their friendship brought joy and comfort to both of their lives.
Robert Black was a compassionate soul who brightened the lives of those around him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
