Robert Bearley

Robert E. Bearley, 78, formerly of Clarksville, died Thursday, February 26, 2009, in Michigan City, IN. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Harwell and Carl Dudley officiating. Burial will be in Dotsonville Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Mr. Bearley was born August 25, 1930 in Terre Haute, IN to John and Thelma (Hires) Bearley, both of whom preceded him in death. On August 15, 1949 in Henderson, KY he married Dortha J. Camp , she preceded him in death on July 17, 2006.
Surviving are son Robert E. (Jan) Bearley, Jr., daughter Barbara J. (Harry) Dix, sons Timothy and David R. Bearley, grandchildren Wayne (Angela) and Kevin, step-grandchildren Charity and Ted Klimkiewicz, great-grandchildren Elise and Lillian, brothers John (Linda) Bearley, and Charles Bearley, sisters Emma, Alice and Mary, and dearest friends the Carl and Donna Dudley family. He was preceded in death by a son Stanley, and several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Bearley had been employed with Albertson' Food store in maintenance for 6 years, he formerly worked at the Merchandise Mart and North American Bldg. in Chicago.
He and his wife Dortha hosted numerous evangelists and opened their house to missionaries. In his life he served our Lord as a deacon and in many other ways as a Southern Baptist. He was a loving and hardworking man all of his life. He departed this life loving the Lord.
