Robbie C. Kesler, 92, formerly of Clarksville, left this life, Friday, July 23, 2010, at Goldenliving Center in Atlanta, GA. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 12 noon until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. She was born January 8, 1918 in Eufaula, Alabama and was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Cora Adams Smith; husband; W.A. "Dick"Kesler; brothers, A.W. Smith, Charles Smith, Dewey Smith and Norman Smith; sisters, Mary Lisenby, Althea Barber, Wilma Fehling, Virginia McLean and Barbara Pippin. Robbie traveled all over the world with her husband "Dick"who was a career Army officer. They lived in France, Okinawa and five different states. They settled in Clarksville in 1959. Robbie was an active Gray Lady with the Red Cross and while overseas was an active Girl Scout leader. Her great love beside her family was duplicate bridge and bingo. She and her husband were directors of two clubs in the Clarksville/Fort Campbell area. She taught bridge at Fort Campbell and at Austin Peay State University. She traveled to many tournaments and achieved her Life Master' rank with the American Contact Bridge League. After she quit playing bridge, she began to play bingo which she loved. She was a great traveler and in her late 70' and 80' traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean and to Europe. In her late 70', she began taking classes in acrylic painting and painted several scenes including one that she used as the cover of her Christmas card. She had a zest for life and everyone who met her loved her. She attended church and Sunday school faithfully at First Baptist Church up until she relocated to Atlanta. Survivors include her daughters, Lyndia "Lynn"K. Palmer, Clarksville, Debra Mosely, Atlanta; grandchildren, Lee A. (Tammy) Wallace, Clarksville, Martha R. Wallace, New Johnsonville, TN, Desiree (Mark) Clark, Jasper, GA, Steven Reames of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Holly Dawn Wallace, Fort Bragg, NC, Amber Ruth Clark, Jasper, GA, Aubrey Rose Clark, Jasper, GA, Jesse Logan Reames, Atlanta, GA, step-great-granddaughter, Tamra Jenkins, MS; and brother William Kimsey Smith of Nashville, GA. Pallbearers will be Walker McCutcheon, Keith Douglas, Mark Clark, Steven Reames, Ricky Pryor and Kenny Pryor.
