Rita Downs

Rita Dannell Downs, age 67 of Erin, TN, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Horizon Medical Center.
A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Spurgeon officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The Downs family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday morning.
Rita entered this life on March 30, 1953 in Mobile, AL, daughter to the late Emmitt and Laura Mae Smithey. Rita was a seamstress for over thirty years and a cook for fifteen years. She loved her family and will greatly be missed.
Rita leaves behind her loving husband of nearly 49 years, Weldon Ray Downs; sons, Ray (Tiffany) Downs, Nathan Downs; siblings, Mitchell Smithey, Michael Fryer; and her precious grandchildren, Harley Downs, Ally Downs, and Clay Downs.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy Downs, John Downs, Jacob Rebello, Casey Clark, Matt Mathis, Lane Fryer, Lance Fryer, and Lynn Fryer.
