Richard Gertin

Richard Joseph Gertin, 74, Clarksville, died Saturday, October 2, 2010, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at Independence, VA. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Gertin was born on February 29, 1936 in Rochester, NY, son of the late Roy David and Barbara Hemmrick Gertin. Mr. Gertin was a retired Viet-Nam Veteran with the US Army and a Catholic. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Swicegood and a sister, Julie Hoadley. He is survived by his sons, Michael R. Gertin of Clarksville,TN, Roy David Gertin of Wedgefield, SC and Christopher Gertin of Borden, IN; daughters, Kathy Murphy of Sparta, NC and Lynne Cornette of Independence, VA; brother, David Gertin of Rochester, NY; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
