Richard Edwin Barlow Sr. age 73, of Clarksville, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Military Honors.
The Barlow family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Richard entered into this life on November 22, 1944, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Roy and Charlotte Eyer. Richard was a Veteran of the United States Army. He proudly served in Vietnam for three and a half years, was a lifetime member of the American Legion, and was a past Commander of DAV Chapter 101 Ft. Campbell, and was the recipient of four Bronze Stars, and the Air Medal. After his service in the Army, he retired with twenty years as an insurance agent.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, and one sister.
Richard is survived by his loving wife Ida Whitsel Barlow; grandchildren, MSgt Eric (Maggie) Barlow (USAF), Heather Simpson, and Brooke Hill, and brother, James Eyer; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
