Rhonda Mitchum

 Rhonda Mauree Mitchum, age 63 of Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at her residence while surrounded by her loving family. 

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home. Burial will follow at McDonald Cemetery. 

 The Mitchum family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service Monday morning. 

 Rhonda entered this life on November 21, 1960 in Erin, TN, daughter to Gordon Tripplett and Jewel Coakley Tanner. 

 Rhonda grew up in the TN Ridge community playing with the neighborhood children. At a young age she enjoyed riding her motorcycle with her sister, riding horses, and going to horse shows. She attended TN Ridge Elementary School  where she played basketball and other school activities, including being a member of the County Baton Twirling Club. While attending HCHS, Rhonda became a member of the school marching band after injuring her knee playing basketball. 

 Rhonda enjoyed hunting and fishing with her mother, raising her children, while having other kids stay over and play. She loved taking her kids to school activities and watching them play ball; all while working as a CSR at Southern Gage. 

 After leaving the workforce, Rhonda  would hunt in the fall, and load up the golf cart with tools which she used to maintain the yard and land all summer; she will be greatly missed.     

 Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother, Jewel Coakley Tanner. 

 Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Albert Mitchum Jr; sons, AJ (Kerri) Mitchum, Wes (Savannah) Mitchum; father, Artie Tanner;

 sister, Audrey Tuberville; granddaughter, Melanie Mitchum and a host of nieces and nephews. 

 Serving as pallbearers will be Marshall Nichols, Daryl McGrath, Cameron Lyle, Curtis Lamberth, Curt Cherry, Isiah Mitchum, Sky Yazzie, and Dustin Yazzie. 

 Honorary pallbearers will be the HCHS Graduating Class of 1979. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
