Rev. Norman (Toad) Mackens, 81, of Palmyra, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Baggett's Chapel Church of God of Prophecy with Bishop E.C. McKinnley and the Revs. Terry Bear and David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow in Baggett's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the Baggett's Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.
Toad was born May 7, 1931 in Montgomery County, son of Frank and Estell Underwood Mackens. He was retired from International Lable Company and faithfully served his Lord as a Church of God of Prophecy minister. His church membership was with Baggett's Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton B Mackens and Johnny Cleman Mackens.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Pulley Mackens; his son, Clinton Mackens and his wife Kim; grandsons, Jeremy Mackens and Clinton Michael Mackens; step gradchildren, Danielle and Josh Wall; great grandchild Daniel Hogan; brothers, Robert Mackens and Noel Mackens; and his sisters, Lucy Elrod, Margie Gaither, Betty Sutton, Jeannette Byard, and Shirley Mackens.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Mackens, Clinton Michael Mackens, Brad Mackens, Kenny Harris, Johnny Harris, and Jeff Harris.
