Rev. Noah Leroy Hicks, 88, Clarksville, Tennessee passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his residence. He was a native of Carter County and was a son of the late Pluear and Daisy Presnell Hicks. Rev. Hicks had worked many years in the Steel Mills of Baltimore. He was also a Freewill Baptist Minister having pastored many churches, including Harmony Freewill Baptist Church in Baltimore where he started and built. He attended Oakwood Freewill Baptist Church in Clarksville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Hicks; brother and sisters, Corie, Flora, Polly, Dellia, Kate, Susie and Dewey Hicks; a son, Larry Hicks and a daughter, Judy Bell Hicks. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Page Hicks of the home; five sons, Roy Hicks and wife, Shirley of Virginia, Marion Hicks and wife, Darlene, North Carolina, Bill Hicks and wife, Noo, Tony Austin and wife, Marie and Rev. David Austin and wife, Cindy all of Clarksville; three daughters, Bonnie Adams and husband, Willie of Florida, Patricia Davis of Big Rock, TN and Pamela K. Austin of Clarksville; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Rev. Hicks will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 15, 2013 in the Keenburg Freewill Baptist Church in Elizabethton with Rev. David Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the Keenburg Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
