Rev. Douglas Barnes

Rev. Douglas Jasper Barnes, Jr, age 86 of Palmyra, TN passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022.
Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Denny officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Doug entered this life on February 20, 1936 in Macon, Mississippi to the late Douglas Jasper Barnes, Sr. and Annie Louise Denton Barnes. He was a member of Legacy Baptist Church in Dover, TN. Doug was a retired insurance executive and retired Baptist Minister from Legacy Baptist Church. He was an avid lifelong motorcyclist and Mississippi State Bulldog fan.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Barnes, and daughter-in-law, Bev Barnes.
Survivors include his son, Doug Barnes; daughter, Louise (Ed) Barnes Krass; grandchildren, Bryan Krass and Becky Barnes, and brother, Jerry Barnes.
Memorial contributions may be made to Legacy Baptist Church, 108 Wilson Hollow, Indian Mound, TN 37079.
