Raymond H. Bowers, 90, Clarksville, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Bobby Kail officiating. Burial will be in Blooming Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born January 27, 1918 in Montgomery County, and was the son of Gilmer H. Bowers and D. Addie Darnell Bowers. Mr. Bowers retired from Fort Campbell Fire Department and was a WWII Veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Crossland Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Louise Smith Bowers, Clarksville; sons, Wayne (Donna) Bowers, Oklahoma, Harold G. Bowers, Hickman County, TN; daughter, Joyce E. Allen, Clarksville; sister, Eugenia Manners, Clarksville; granddaughter, Melanie (Chris) Yarbrough; great-grandchildren, Matthew C. Yarbrough, Catlin M. Yarbrough and Carsyn J. Yarbrough. Pallbearers will be Barry Bowers, Charles Harrison, Mike F. Bowers, William Michael Bowers, Freddy Bowles and Ricky Stroub.
