Leonard Ray Pittman, age 84, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2013 at Fieldstone Assisted Living.
Ray entered this life on July 23, 1929 in Piggott, Arkansas, son to the late Roy and Agnes Marie Brawner Pittman. He retired from a distinguished 20 year career with the U.S. Army, eight years of which was served with the Special Forces. Following Ray's military career he worked for Genessee Merchants Bank of Flint, Michigan where he was an engineer. He again retired after 19 years.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Annabelle Vaughn Pittman of Clarksville; children, Steve Pittman and his wife Brenda of Springfield and Amanda Slay of Clarksville; step daughter Margarette Aulde of Clarksville; sisters, Della Faye Jensen and her husband Jim of Cocoa Beach, FL and Wanda Lou Atha and her husband Grayson of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his step son, David Oxley.
