Randolph Slate, 63, Clarksville, died Saturday, November 27, 2010, at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 9:30 a.m.until the hour of service Monday at the church. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born January 22, 1947 in Montgomery County, son of Paschal Hodge Slate and Louella Rose Slate. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, June Elizabeth Slate. He was a former contractor and was owner of St. Bethlehem Auto Sales. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, was ordained as a Deacon at Parkview Baptist Church, and taught Sunday School for many years. Survivors include his wife Patsy Stacey Slate of Clarksville, daughters Stacy (Paul) Batson of Clarksville, Marcy (Kenny) Helms of Clarksville, and Tiffany (Eddy) Darnell of Paducah, KY; sisters Ann (Wayne) Harrison and Wanda (Delbert) Homol, both of Clarksville; and grandchildren Casey (Ashley) Lee, Victoria Batson, Elizabeth Batson, Nicholas Batson, Riley Darnell, Alec Darnell, and great-granddaughter Avery Kate Lee. Pallbearers will be Casey Lee, Paul Batson, Eddy Darnell, Kenny Helms, Bobby Byrd, Billy Hart, William Perry, Wayne Harrison, and Rev. Delbert Homol.
