Phyllis Carol Atwood

Phyllis Carol Hollis-Atwood of Erin, TN, was sent to her eternal home on March 21, 2025, in Nashville, TN at the age of 80. She was the beloved mother of daughter, Missy (John) Johnson of Erin, TN, sons Jackie Lee Martin of Shop Springs, TN, Randy (Vicky) Martin of Liberty, TN, the late Kenneth “Butch” Martin of Watertown, TN, and Ricky (Shelagh) Atwood of Paris, ON.

Carol was born on Feb. 21, 1945, in Smith County, TN. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, laughs, and faith in God. She was one of fourteen children to the late William and Lillan Hollis of Smith County, TN. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.

Carol was proceeded in death by parents, William and Lillian Hollis, son Kenneth “Butch” Martin, brothers Douglas Hollis, William Shirley “Kit” Hollows and Leland Hollows, and sisters Irene Cantrell and Christin Baker. In addition to her children, Carol leaves behind many grand children, and many great-grand children.

The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Carol Atwood will be held at her home with Missy and John Johnson in Erin, TN later this week. ‍

Although Carol’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to be felt and uplift us. ‍
