Phoebe Vanessa Hawkins, age 55, passed away at her home in Clarksville on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
Phoebe entered into this life on September 16, 1967 in Brownsville, Tennessee, daughter of Dempsey Powledge and the late Darlene Crews and her late second father/grandfather and second mother/grandmother, Willie and Bernice Evans. Phoebe was a hard-working and dedicated health care worker, having served as a Certified Nursing Assistant for the majority of her working life. As much as Phoebe loved her work, she enjoyed her leisure time as well. Traveling was at the top of Phoebe's list of favorite things to do, especially vacation time in Florida. Additionally, she dearly loved her family and devoted much of her time to them. Phoebe attended Faith United Missionary Baptist Church in the Whites Creek area of Nashville.
In addition to her parents, Phoebe was preceded by her son, Jason Powledge, and her sister, Angela Evans. Survivors include her loving husband, Tim Hawkins; children, Jarron King, Shaketha "Keke" Liggins, Nicole Hawkins, and Carlos Hawkins; siblings, Thelma Light, Carolyn Franklin, Edgar Evans, Rosa Burrus, Beverly Evans, Dudley Evans, Connie Allen, Cesar Evans, Glenda Flagg, Phyllis Deberry, Vatisha Evans, and DeMarcus Mitchell; mother-in-law, Samella Hawkins and brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law, Blake Pollock, Ebony Pollock, Cedric Hawkins, Jackie Brown, and Tonya Tisdale. Additionally, Phoebe is survived by her grandchildren, Josiah Howard, Avera Howard, Malachi Russell, Julius Stewart, Jarrius Stewart, Nicole Hunt, Janaya Powledge, and Kemichael Hall.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Phoebe's family will be receiving friends from 12 noon until the hour of service on Friday. Condolences may be made to Phoebe's family at NaveFuneralHomes.com.
