Philip J. Harvey, 80, Clarksville, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at his residence. A celebration of life service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 with Rev. Hubert Cunningham officiating at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the hour of service Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the funeral home. The remains are to be cremated. He was born October 20, 1929 in Medford, OR, and was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Milburn and Thelma Dixie Ambler Harvey and his wife, Chris Harvey. Mr. Harvey was a retired Captain for the U.S. Army who served in Korea and Viet Nam; and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of New Providence United Methodist Church. His hobbies included woodworking, making cradles and other furniture for his family. Survivors include his sons, James Michael (Donna) Harvey, Memphis; daughter Charlean Harvey (Gary) Cathey, Clarksville; brothers, Harry Harvey and John Harvey, both of Arizona; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
