Peter Swadley, a gifted musician whose passion for music inspired countless others, passed away on August 23, 2024, at the age of 48. Born on September 14, 1975, Peter was the son of a piano teacher, which laid the foundation for a life immersed in melody and rhythm. His mother and father nurtured his talent along with that of his siblings, teaching them the art of playing the piano — a skill that blossomed into a lifelong love for Peter. From an early age, music resonated deeply within him, and he demonstrated exceptional proficiency across various instruments, including the guitar, piano, and violin, while fostering a particular fondness for the mechanics and electronics of musical instruments. Though he may have never picked up the flute, Peter's versatility as a musician was truly remarkable. His love for creating and songwriting set him apart, conveying emotions and stories through his original pieces that touched the hearts of many. Peter's contributions to the music scene were considerable, as he was an esteemed member of the band Hometown. He even had the opportunity to play with Bo Byce and Zach Brown. Peter was a loving father to Max and Sophia, sharing his musical gifts and the love of outdoors with his children, particularly through teaching his daughter how to play the piano, and endless fishing trips with Max.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Kincaid Swadley; grandsons, Peter and Clayton Forsythe, and nephew, Jacob Seay.
Survivors include his father, Raymond Swadley; children, Sophia (Keagan) Forsythe, and Max Swadley; siblings, Kirsten Swadley Feinberg (Mark), and Lelia Swadley; nieces and nephews, Levi (Annie), Caleb, Adam, Katherine, and Maria.
